I would rather they debugged the IMS bearing repair/replace kit on a trashed engine then mine.
The way the IMS bearing rides in the inner race of the bearing on this end, nut-bolt/short shaft, plugged into the hollow IMS. I doubt that there would be much tension on the shaft itself after after taking the nut off and driving the bolt/short shaft in to the hollow end of the IMS to create clearance for the bearing extraction tool to get a grip on the inner race.
