How hard is it (should it be?) to get a couple of your rotten old vet codgers to sit out on that overpass one night with their shotguns and cell phones, and beat the tar out of those kids as a neighborhood? You know they're coming, so wait for them, and remind them who owns this town...

But, even something as "simple" as that won't happen. Instead, they call the city and ask them to paint it again, so they can continue the process.
