My friends 45-70 rifles were all ported and were surprisingly pleasant to shoot. I'm a believer.
Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to have the barrel on my 39A shortened or sell it and find either a 39M or 9422. Something about a 24" barrel and 40" overall length .22lr feels too long and muzzle heavy.
