Ranges? The cooking kind . . .
My wife broke the inner glass on the oven this morning. She put a wet rag on a very recently self-cleaned oven glass door (still hot obviously) & a crack shot across the whole window. I don't want to repair it because it is a piece of crap.
It was a glass top electric with concealed oven elements. Did I mention that it is a piece of crap? The glass top is a pain to clean. The self clean vented & permanently stained the upright part above the vent. Replaced n/c once but stained again. And the oven is desparately slow to heat up & has been doing a pitiful job with my Yorkshire pudd lately. And about 4 years old . . .
So . . .
I want gas. The house is plumbed so no biggie to hook up. 30" only so no 'professional' megadollar ranges. Probably Maytag since most other brands appear to be merely new pieces of crap.
But what oven? Full size? Dual ovens? We would have to give up pan storage for a dual. Standard versus convection? I would need a broiler.
What works?
