Did you see what I responded to? No need to get emotional. Simply put Twitter is not going away anytime soon. As for sales platform, there are plenty of companies using it. I subscribe to Karl Rove's acct. He is constantly selling himself. It may seem useless to you, but plenty of people are using and subscribing to it. As for PP, I have no idea how far their aspirations go with their company. Some companies use it though.

Unique visitors doesn't mean users. I'm sure that also tracks twitter plugins and web interfaces and such too. It's growing fer sure, but still doesn't apply to all net users. I've been online since it was available and I have no use for twitter. It's constricting, and petty. It's just another path for communication, that's all.
For instance, does Pelican have a need for a twitter feed? What would be gained by it? At least Facebook and MySpace have a blogging feature with full posting capabilities that can get messages out, images, stories, and even advertisements out in full english so that anyone can understand it, even passerbys. 140characters does not work on a sales model.
