Question Microsoft Outlook 2007

I have a question for you Outlook 2007 with business contact manager gurus.
My wife's work requires that they use this application for their work email. She has it on her lap top and it works great. (at her work) When she brings her lap top home she can recieve email but not send any. I know that her ISP at work is not the same as ours here at home which is AT&T. One of her co-workers said that all we needed to do was call AT&T and have them unblock port 25 on our modem and all would be good. Well after two hours on the phone with tech support they said they can't do that....UNLESS we have a business account with a static IP address. We don't have that here at the house. The only options we have were to change the configuration settings in Outlook on her lap top every time she checked her mail either here or at work....OR Install Outlook on the home computer and configure all the settings here through AT&T. I have done that. Whats happening now is that Outlook seems to be down loading all of her past mail since they started using Outlook at her work. We're talking like 800mb of mail for a month!
To make a long story short, is there a way to syncronize this computer and her lap top so that whichever machine she checks her mail on is current information?
This is all new to me. I have never used Outlook before.
Thanks in advance for any help on the subject.
