I'll believe they're really trying to cut budgets when they stop offering medical in retirement to new employees. I don't think any of the Fortune 100 companies doing business in California offer it to new hires. Disney quit offering it 15 y/o. Why should the state be offering a benefit that most taxpayers won't even get? Oh! To compete with the private sector and attract and retain quality employees! Yeah, right.
