I had the pleasure of rallying around the Monterey Peninsula in a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona once and was so awestruck by it I can see why you and many others view them as a "legendary GT". Although not nearly as beautiful as a Daytona, I consider the 365 GTC/4 (Daytona's 2+2 brother) to be a superior GT as it has power steering and other "creature comforts" that make it much more enjoyable to drive over long distances. I have come to really appreciate what a 365 GTC/4 has to offer after having owned a 1967 330 GT 2+2 with no a/c and no p/s. However, I consider both the Daytona and 365 GTC/4 to be my favorite "vintage GTs".

To me comparing a "vintage GT" to a "modern GT" is like comparing apples to oranges as they are just too different from each other. I consider the Porsche 928, Ferrari Testarossa, and Ferrari 550/575 Maranello to be my favorite "modern GTs" as the are all very unique in their own ways and are all very comfortable to take on long drives.
