I am buying a spare motor to put in my '74 Carrera. In the event I never get around to actually completing these grandiose plans I'm curious on the value of the motor if I need to sell it.

It's a '78 SC taken to 3.2L, rebuilt by a reputable shop with new Mahle pistons and cylinders, int and ex valves, guides, original heads ported and polished, new main, con rod and counter shaft bearings, new timing chains, 911 S Web Cams, new plug wires and 46 IDA Weber carbs w/ K & N air cleaners. It also includes flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, motor mounts, headers, coil and oil cooler lines.

Motor was used about 1000 (adult?) miles in a time trial car by a friend I trust. Been sitting about 15 years now.

Any advice about potential problems would also be appreciated, i.e. stock Carrera transmission suitability or other installation problems.

p.s Any advice or direction on using motor to build a "Dakar" style Porsche dune buggy? Or maybe a Porsche powered sand car?
