Does Mahle 98mm pistons and cylinders sound right? I'll have to check on the crank, assume it original as I don't seem to see anything in the paperwork.

I don't think the use was overly zealous as I ran with my friend a few times and recall him being considerable less heroic than myself. Hope he doesn't read this post!

Any advice on work required after sitting this long? Some new valve springs?

Do you think my stock '74 transmission with 86,000 miles is up to the task?
