A starting pitcher is much more important than a starting goalie.
Put Walter Johnson on the mound with just about any team behind him - bunt a few guys around FTW.
I don't care if you have Tretiak between the pipes, if you don't have good defensemen - any team that can pass will fill that net with rubber.
