I'll second the
www.drinkholders.com unit - I just installed one on each door panel. they are very discreet and fold up when not in use. believe jack olsen has a similar unit (remember his being a vw part from prior threads).
I mounted mine in front of my lock knob and below the electric window switches.
just remember to close door first, THEN put cup in holder - reverse can be pretty messy.
