I called Lingenfelter and got and engine that will run at 7500 rpms for 200 hours. 50,000 mile warranty. The dyno says 547hp at the wheels. Equal torque figure. 5 speed backs it up. Less than 9 seconds to 100mph, even with me driving. Nice to know I'm not the only Porsche/Chevrolet guy out there.
Back on topic.....these cars are great as investments (for money and for youself). And they make me feel good, is there anything else?

Wow, sounds like pure sex. My first car was a '65 Impala (older than I was). Nothing special, 2 door, 350 2bbl from a junk yard by the previous owner, but it did have a 4 spd and 4.10 gears, so it was quicker than a lot of stuff on the road in the late 80's. It was a similar color to yours but a bit darker. I miss that car, good times.
When I bought my 911 my plan had been to get an old Chevelle and update the suspension and brakes and go with a crate motor and A/C. I went the 911 route when I found out I could afford one. I'm glad I did, but I still want another old Chevy some day (and another Porsche or two).
