I have a can of Cloverine Salve I've had since 1954. In those days kids could order cardboard cylinders containing maybe 25 cans. You didn't pay anything up front for them. Then you would take them out and sell them door-to-door for 25 or 35 cents and send the money to the company. You got so many points for each cylinder worth you sold. They had a catalog of things you could get with your points. I got several things but don't remember what they were now. I also have a metal tube of Atlas automotive door hinge lubricant (kind of like a big tube of chap stick). I think it was my dad's, and it must be 60+ years old. The Coverine Salve has been knocking around in my sock drawers for as long as I can remember, and the Atlas hinge lube has been in my garages/workshops forever.
