Sorry - I can't help any further. I'm just good at paying for my engine builder to put my engine together. What I know I know only from lotsa discussions with him and other research. No practical or engineering knowledge here.
I would check very carefully for corrosion and the condition of all rubber lines. My '75 has sat for "only" 6 months (and 6 months before that) and I was nervous starting it up over the weekend.
Do you already own the engine????
