Acetone is not good enough, it will leave residue on the window. It's good for getting the grease off, but you then need high grade (90%) alcohol to remove the acetone residue. Fingernail polish is even worse.

isoprophanol/isopropyl alcohol, over 90% is the only way to get glass clean. That or a strong nitric acid bath followed by deionized water.

Rubbing alcohol is ethanol, which is not as clean as isopropyl, even when it's at a higher purity. If you can't get true 90+% isoprophanol from the hardware store, then make sure you get the isopropyl version of rubbing alcohol (sometimes it's available).
