Why would it ice? I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it seems like the current intake could ice then?
What about the above mentioned 2-2 barrel carbs - one on either side. Then you have all the nice stuff that American carbs have including a mechanical or electric choke (I do love the electric choke - warms the car up nice!).
