Nuts!!
OK, I give up! I need to disassemble my alternator and impeller fan and I'm a bit stuck. I removed the impeller nut and special washer and find a "hub" as it's called, with two flat sides, very soft metal, and apparently forzen in place with rust. Anyone ever take one of these bad boys off before? I'm to the point of chiseling the rotten little bugger off if I have to and just buy a new one. Any suggestions?
Also, any ideas for removing the inside half of front pulley would be appreciated as well. Got the nut and shims off OK, but can't budge the pulley. Needless to say, I'm left hanging by my manuals which don't seem to cover the alternator disassembly at all!! It's always something!!
