Thanks for all of the input. I'm going to put the Kitchen Aid in and see how it does... mostly because it's ready to go. I like features of both, but after walking by both of them in the garage for a couple of days I have to say that I prefer the cleaner front of the Kitchen Aid - it has the controls on top of the door. We'll see how it goes. I hope when I do get around to taking the Bosch apart that there's something blocking the impeller and I can resell it with a clear conscience.
