I've got a set of OEM Fuchs, origionally 16 x 6", that have been professionally cut and welded out wider to 16 x 8.5" and 16 x 10" using several 16 x 6" as doner parts/rims. Very clean job of welding. Rims / Fuchs painted total flat black
Presently mounted are Yoko ES100's in 245/45 rear and 225/45 fronts, and you could go A LOT wider for rubber choice if needed. The tires have a few more track days left on them but will need to be replaced soon.
