It's time to remind ourselves that not everyone is a P-car fan. If someone tells you a car is a 951 and the title says 944 Turbo, do you walk away? Or they tell you it's a 930 and the title says 911 Turbo, do you walk? Face it, all the 9-1-this and 9-1-that is bewildering to newbies. When BMW guys start talking about E32s and Mopar guys with their A-bodies, my eyes glaze over. Fact is, a $5K Porsche is $5K. Unless it's a 924/944, it's a given you're taking a risk. I'd say for that money, a PPI isn't worth it, because you already know there's going to be issues. I'd say Playa got himself a cheap car he can wrench on and learn and make mistakes on, so for his next Porsche, he'll be better off than a guy who memorizes a buyer's guide and goes in with a wad of cash.
