I took a look at a PP seat that I have mounted in a 77 'C3.0. With the seat bolted to the bottom hole of a Recaro aluminum side mount, there is about a half inch clearance between the bottom of the seat and the top of the side mount/slider.
A factory slider is about the same thickness as a Recaro one, just under an inch.
