Worst thing is, this is getting worse. I regularly see people with dogs on extended leashes letting those dogs poop in other folks yards, and dogs running at large. And this is the nicer part of town! The other thing I see a lot of is someone's dog coming at you all barking with the hackles up, while its owner yells for it to come back, to no avail. Then all of a sudden, I hear "It's okay, he's just being friendly, he doesn't bite". Pisses me off. I stand between our 2.5 yr old Lab and the other dog and prevent the two from interacting, while the owner usually starts into "What's your problem. They just want to play". Then I tell them something to the effect of "All I know is that your dog does not listen to you. I do not want my dog interacting with a badly behaved dog". Either way, I'm the bad guy!

How can people be so blatantly irresponsible?
