I can see the OP's point if it's an urban setting and there are public parks and boulevards for people to walk their dogs on. Some people also feed their dogs *god knows what* and the animal's stools are not exactly dry. HTF does someone "pick-up" after that? (Disgusting, I know, but I see this all the time). I'd rather they use the public parkway or grass between the sidewalk and street.
I respect private property rights, period. The guy doesn't need to give anyone a reason why he doesn't want dogs on his property. I happen to like dogs, maybe he doesn't. I have friends who don't want dogs in their house, mine are on the couch. It's their property. If you want yours respected, you need to respect others'. That's how I always understood it, anyways.
