Before I went to cutting on a new set of pistons that were designed for my engine ,I beleve I would assembly one piston with crank , head, cam and valve ass. and see if it were really needed. Ck. and see what kind of clerance I really had from valve and piston ,then cut if needed instead of just do it while you are in there
