As you search, you may also find the MSD Blaster coil is the better replacement, depending upon your model year and ignition system. Many smarter than I have opined on the topic. Anyway, it's what I used in my '82 and it has worked fine.

If you do go the MSD route, be advised the coil takes an 8MM wire and your cap takes a 7MM wire. The smaller wire will arc in the coil and ruin it. Fab up a wire with different plugs on each end.

I guess that this also means relocating the coil right?

Is it not possible to find a German made Bosch coil?
