I had a neuropathic diabetic patient once who was reading the paper, sitting in his wheelchair, when he noticed the parrot sitting on the handle of the chair had blood all over it. He called his sister in to take care of her bird. She came in and was pretty shocked that he had eaten off the end of the toe.
