I have plenty of clearance with 964 cams, but I'm running JE pistons so there may be more clearance. I'm using EBS springs with stock retainers. I didn't see the need for Ti retainers since my redline is 7500 and I rarely go over 7000. I also don't think the Ti retainers are as durable even though the the yield and tensile strengths are comparable to steel.
