Well, no lecture for you, obviously, but its a great example of why I try never to get on a bike without a jacket, boots and leather pants-you can't protect yourself against the big stuff, really-if you get hit or hit something no gear is really likely to prevent injury, but if you just fall, even at a good clip, gear means you often walk unscathed. Roadrash sucks.
Had a 60 mph lowside last year, tore up my 749 pretty well (fixed now, better than new) but other than trashing my helmet and scuffing my leathers, I was fine.
