Anotherwords have it done by someone who has done it before on air cooled Porsche motors.

Smooth off any sharp edges of machined valve pockets with 1200 grit sandpaper so the edges don't become hot spots that can cause detonation.
In theory you are right- but I have had mine done like that and they ran fine under 25 Psi. So in this case, no it wouldnt do any harm.
