You put it into words perfectly. It's about doing and appreciating the work and effort, not the money. The day I finally pull mine out of the garage will be a real thrill for sure and it won't have anything to do with the money. Although, I have to admit my hope is NOT to put $20k into it just to have it running and presentable.
I don't count the labor in my situation since it's a genuine learning and "quality time" (I hate that term but couldn't think of anything better!) experience for my son and me. I'm really getting attached to this car, warts and all.
