Yay, I busted an internet cheat today
Yay, I busted an internet cheat today.
The slimy ********* was using New Zealand’s version of ebay to sell a load of dodgy Chinese imported products with false documentation and not what had been advertised.
As soon as I emailed back for a return and refund, he accepted the return but no refund.
The online auction place wouldn’t tell me his details. But I tracked him down by tricking the courier company into giving me his street address. I then got the company’s trading name and looked up who he was on the companies register (isn’t the internet a wonderful thing). Then I reported him to our Commerce Commission for false advertising. Just after 9:00 this morning I went around to the company and walked in on a meeting demanding to see this character. They all looked a bit concerned and one asked me if I was a “private investigator or something like that”. I said “yes” as I was something like that I guess at that very moment. I was rather empowering as the 10 or so of them were really ****ing themselves. I said I had questions to ask this character on behalf of the Commerce Commission – which was true to a point, and they better start co-operating as they were all guilty by association. Two guys got up and asked me to leave but I think they got the idea I was going to wop them if the didn’t sit down and shut up. I told them I’d come back later and find this guy and find out who of them had been telling me lies.
Haha they watched me through the blinds as I “interviewed” the businesses over the road
An hour later the guy refunded my money and sent an apologetic email. Then the Commerce Commission phoned and said he was too small fry to bother chasing. Ha, who cares and I had lots of fun following one clue to the next, plus it was fun frightening these dodgy dealers.
I just love a happy ending.
