Here's a view of the VW headlight assembly just placed in the opening:
Below is a blurry image showing how far I could get the assembly into the bucket. Just before the tab interfered with the surrounding sheet metal, the headlight assembly was interfering with the mounting tabs inside the bucket (which hold the sugar scoop style headlight assembly in place). I could kind of sneak the running light parts around the bottom headlight mounting tab (see bottom pic).
This picture is of a standard H4 headlight assembly with the early clear VW lens. This setup needs a fluted lamp or fluted Euro lens'.
