I ordered the heavier SWEPCO oil and will change it this week. The grinding noise turned out to be the torque tube stop rubbing on the rear suspension cross member and vibrating/resonating though the body. Adjusted the position of the stop and the noise went away (torque tube replaced over the winter and didn't notice how close it was to the cross member).
The noise in the aft housing is still there (5th gear region) but it seems from treads that I've read that noise in this region is pretty common. Any experience with this?
