I seem to recall from some earlier posts that you've an artistic bent/interest that goes back to your earlier years. If so, my idea would be to develop colorful designs and applying them to the pots.

In the past this would mean low fire glazes, which require a kiln of course and a lot of hassle (well, everything's relative).

With todays tech., there are durable paints (epoxy, et al) that could be hand painted either freehand or using computer generated die-cut stencils (or maybe even die cut colored pattern appliques) or air-brush...the possibilities are endless.

A basic knowledge of a decent graphics program like Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Paint Shop Pro or others would reduce a lot of the labor intensivness, perhaps to the point where you could focus on the creative aspects of design and reach a point where semi-skilled workers, housewives, etc., could do the application. Those that you did personally, you could sign, provide a cert. of authenticity and sell as original works or a limited, numbered edition.

Marketing could be done numerous ways including the circuit of craft shows that exist all over the country, hiring someone to hawk them at swap meets if you don't want to sit around doing it yourself, design motifs relating to hotels or resorts where they'd be sold in their gift shops, yada, yada.

I think the possibilites are endless if you've got the interest and energy to pursue them. Good luck!
