is anyone here proficient in Filemaker Pro? I have FP7 on my Mac

I need to create/have created a quick db: contact & purchase history

Example:

Steve buys a 917 shirt, pays, and receives it
Steve gets an email (opted-in) that the new RSR shirts are ready
Steve buys one, pays, receives it

and so on

I'm finding Excel and Word merges are just not going to scale as adult t-shirt sales develop.
