I've only driven, not owned, the newest gen evo. The cockpit is a much nicer place to be, the materials are nice. Otherwise I came away with the impression that everything about the car was softer, less visceral. It might be as fast, but it's lost its edge.
Mitsubishi may very well fold soon. Besides the evo, what's to like? They don't sell enough vehicles to stay afloat. So keep that in mind.
