Fellow Pelicans! Consider me fortunate....why? Because my wife and I are still alive.
There we are this evening, the first time I have had the GT above 60, and all of a sudden there is a LOUD BANG and the left rear portion of the car falls down.
I muscle the car off to the right and get out...THE WHOLE MF'N SON OF FRIGGN BIATCH TIRE FELL OFF!!!!
No wear on the studs, just a little discoloration on the END of the studs and one is a little bent. It's like they put the wrong size studs on the studs/wheel.
Oh and yes the shop did have all 4 tires off at one point AND I had driven the car a ton on those wheels/tires and plenty at high speed.
Its like they just screwed them on by hand or used the wrong size lugs.
Never found the tire, no damage to the car (other than obviously the read diff as it was slammed on the pavement).
Just saying glad to be alive. I had the car towed to the shop and left a message with them..we'll see how they react since obviously they are responsible for it. They better play nice since my best friend is an attorney, I work for a HUGE lawfirm and so does my wife.
I'll keep you up to date but WTF?
