BMW 520i SE Auto Transmission Problems
Hi there, I have a BMW 520i se automatic on a K-reg (1992). When the vehicle gets to normal running temperature the gear selector gets stuck. Just before it reaches normal temperature the selector starts to get tight when trying to move it in any gear and eventually gets stuck despite what gear you are in and even when engine is switched off. However when the engine is cold the gear selctor is free and moves with no problems.
Therefore I have to switch it off and wait for it to get cold in order to select a gear. In desperation to get this sorted I changed the transmission oil filter and
fluid and made no difference. It is still behaving the same. I would be much appreciated if anyone has any good advice on what to do next.
