New diesels actually burn pretty clean, even w/ sensible mods. My problem is with mental midgets who modify them to over-fuel just to belch-out black smoke. Aside from being an ass hole to the environment, every decent gearhead on earth knows that unburned fuel is wasted power and efficiency. When I'm next to some old poser muscle car that smells like a leaking gas pump, I want to invite the guy over to my shop and teach them a thing or two about tuning and setting-up a car. They have no idea how much HP is sitting there on the table, or rather pissing out their tail pipe.
