I had same issue, could not open trunk, button pushed in, but even then did not unlock, or would get stuck.
Solution: WD40 - I sprayed the heck out of the thing, kept working the button and reinserting the key, over and over again, with more WD40 into the key opening. Amazingly, it works absolutely perfect now. Also used it to spray the heck out of my seats while at it and they are almost silent now.
