We have a 10,500 gallon above-ground Doughboy pool with a Hayward pump and filter. I use 1 1/2" flexible PVC with union couplings and we've run the Hayward pump 12 hours a day during the summer for 6 years with no problems. I believe that AO Smith make the pump motors for Hayward.
