I had to explain it to my (now ex) Mother-in-law.
She was quite aghast for a few seconds, and then you could tell what she was thinking... which was, "I wonder if I'm a MILF".
Her son assured her she was, as ALL of his high-school friends had the hots for her.
It was then that her other son introduced her to the term GILF, as in "Don't worry Mom, you're really a GILF, not a MILF".
And the red-wine drinking just took off from there.
Good times.
