Paul, don't overlook the Nissan Murano / Infiniti FX small sport utes. My father has a Murano and it has been rock solid. The CVT feels wierd at first, but he really likes it.
He lives in NOVA and commutes into DC with it. It shares time with an 330ci that he drives when the weather is nice out.
