Pretty sure my my water pump finally failed. I was not sure how long it would last as I could not find a service record for it on my '78 after buying it. Had planned to replace it but like all things waited until it broke. Signs were:
1. In the last month or so a faint screech type sound from under hood for a minute while warming up, almost sounds like a slightly slipping/loose belt.
2. Water temperature was higher than normal after driving, no overheat though, thought it was just the summer months messing with my mind.
3. Oil pressure was lower by about a bar during idle after driving the car.
4. Stream of coolant all over my office parking spot coming from front of motor dripping off the front of the oil pan.
