My college roommate shipped his '83 911 SC to my house for Christmas. I had no idea he was going to do that.
When one of my mothers friends lost her husband, she asked me to take a look at his sporting equipment to see if anything was of value. I was shocked to find two vintage split bamboo hexagraph fly rods in perfect condition. I told her what she had. She smiled and insisted that I keep them for myself. She is not a wealthy lady, so I sold them for $4,500 and gave her the money. (I did, however, keep some less valuable gear for myself
) This lady was not at all wealthy, she just liked the thought of someone caring for her husbands things. When I told her how thrilled the man was who bought her husbands fly rods, she couldn't have been happier.
My guess is that if this lady in Brooklyn loved her husband, she may be happy knowing her husbands toys will bring new smiles to new faces.
