Okay I'm going to throw my man card toward the flames for a second here.

I actually started watching Young and the Restless for a while. Probably lasted a year or so until I moved and do not get CBS anymore. Why you ask? Well, it was on TV, I didn't do anything after I got home from work at 4, so I checked it out. It made interesting phone conversations with my mother too who has watched the show for 20 years and finally had something to talk to me about.

I honestly think the writing on Y&R was really good. Sure some of it was ridiculous, as the people seem to get married/divorced once a month. And people age at different rates. But the writing was interesting and the acting was pretty good.

So anyways, I stopped watching it like I said... but this year I had no classes or work around lunch time and we've refused to get cable TV at my new place, but we do however pick up "Days of our Lives" So me and my male housemate similarly aged in his 20's started watching it every day at noon, for fun.

It was ridiculous. Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE ACTING. No discernible plot. Seemed to revolve around an older guy dating seeming 15 year olds, a woman obsessed with stealing babies (WTF?) and an old dude with a bad russian accent pulling some mob family S***. To make it less painful we started a Days drinking game... take a drink every time someone:

-cries
-dresses too slutty for their age
-talks about wanting a baby
-has a baby
-woman gets B****y
-kisses someone seeming too young/old for them

two drinks for:
-a woman hitting another woman
-two women getting B****y at each other

plus several rules I forget at the moment.

We finished six beers apeice in 50 minutes last time we played. I suggest trying this with your own soap opera, YMMV...
