Actually, I wasn't going to mention that interesting side effect... But yes, I do see quick moving ghost like images that flash in and out of my peripheral vision when I wear polarized glases. That was actually the "deal breaker" for me to wear polarized glasses. Very disconcerting to be driving or riding the bike and see that.
I suspect my issue with polarized glassees is related to way I see. I have good vision, checked regularly, don't wear glasses. But a bit unusual in that I tend to track slightly differently with each eye. They don't perfectly track together. When I read a book, left side is left eye and right side is right eye. I shoot with both eyes open and can use either eye to sight. There are certain vision checking machines that I can't use because one eye looks at the screen and the other eye can pick up the peripheral object as a seperate location instead of on the screen. I see them both as seperate locations, they aren't "layered together" by my wee brain as one location. My eye doctor says it's just a bit odd but that he does have other patients with the same thing. He says it's how a chameleon sees... Seperate objects from each eye with the ability to alternately process left or right side.
Weird, but not harmful.
