I'm a big fan of the blackberry curve (currently use one). Real buttons, even if they are smaller than the touch screen buttons, can actually be felt and I can type pretty darn fast on it now. It didn't take blackberry a year to realize that cut/paste was a useful feature either. Anything I've ever needed to do it can do.
Whatever you do, don't get the blackberry without the full querty. I think the one withouth qwerty is called the Pearl. My friend has one. It is obnoxious.
If they are going to give you the GPS for free (which AT&T would charge be $10/month for, which I refude) its a no-brainer really.
For the record, iPhones give me the heebeegeebees. Plus, if you are like me and drop phones, the iPhone seems to have a predisposition to smashing itself.
