There are about 100 accidental fatal Tylenol overdoses every year. Not a big number, but so easily avoided.
Last year a teenage girl in our town got the flu right after having knee surgery. She was taking Vicodin for pain and started adding Theraflu and another OTC medication containing APAP. She couldn't sleep, so she took some Tylenol PM. Still not sleepy, she took a few more. "It was only Tylenol", she said. She died a short while later wait for a liver transplant.
Again, 100 such tragedies a year is not a huge number, but it's pretty unnecessary.
